On-time delivery calculator: per supplier or customer

Paste your delivery list from Excel or the ERP: promised date, actual date and, if you have them, the quantities. The calculator shows on-time, in-full and OTIF rates per supplier or customer, and who causes most of the late deliveries.

Three columns: supplier or customer, promised date, actual delivery date. Optionally two more: ordered quantity, delivered quantity. Dates like 2026-10-21 or 21/10/2026. A header row is fine, up to 5,000 rows.
Leave empty if early deliveries always count as on time.
Empty or 0: only on the promised day or earlier.

How the calculator works

On-time delivery = deliveries within the agreed window ÷ all deliveries due × 100. Example: of 200 deliveries in the quarter, 174 arrived within the agreed window. On-time delivery is 87%.

  • On time compares the actual date with the promised date, usually the confirmed date rather than the requested one.
  • In full counts how many deliveries contained the full ordered quantity.
  • OTIF (on time in full) requires both at once, so it is never higher than either rate.

The window decides a lot. Is one day late already a miss, are three days early fine? It is often set in the supply or logistics agreement. Use the same window as your supplier or customer, otherwise you are discussing different numbers.

When it should be every month

Once a quarter you can do this by hand. Continuously, per supplier and material, it needs purchase orders, confirmations and goods receipts from the ERP. With Onagero your purchasing team builds this analysis itself and sees who is slipping before production notices.

Questions about on-time delivery

How do you calculate on-time delivery?

Deliveries within the agreed window divided by all deliveries due in the same period, times 100. The window sits around the promised date.

What is OTIF?

On time in full: the share of deliveries that arrived on time and with the full quantity at once. Some customers also require defect-free goods.

On time to promise or to request?

Measured against the date the customer asked for, the same deliveries usually look worse than against the date you confirmed. Both are useful; say which one you report.

Does an early delivery count as on time?

You decide. Early deliveries tie up storage space and capital, so some customers do not count them as on time. Leave "Allowed early" empty if early is always fine.

Is my data saved?
