AI in controlling: reports without copy-and-paste work

In controlling, a lot of time goes not into thinking but into exporting, reconciling and pasting. With Onagero, your controlling team builds tools that take over that part, and keeps the assessment, with a source for every figure.

In short

With Onagero, your controlling team builds tools directly on your accounting and order data: a monthly report that assembles itself, a contribution margin calculation per customer or item, a KPI sheet for management. Every figure can be traced back to the posting. Calculations use fixed formulas, not the language model.

What matters

Calculating is not a job for a language model

Totals, allocations and accruals belong in tested, fixed program code. The AI helps with building and explaining, but no figure in the report is guessed. That is the most important difference from a chat window sitting on top of your accounting.

Every figure has an origin

A controller who cannot explain a figure loses the meeting. That is why every KPI in the tool leads to the postings it is made from, along with the data as-of date.

Definitions are in the tool

What counts as revenue, what is contribution margin II, which cost centers belong to production: that is not kept in someone’s head but written down next to the figure.

Typical mistakes

  • Asking an AI to “write” the monthly report and letting it generate figures instead of calculating them.
  • Attaching the tool to an Excel file that is structured differently every month.
  • Noticing period accruals and reversals only when management finds the deviation.

No AI transformation. One real process, solved on your data in a few weeks. Your team solves the next one itself.

Questions about AI in Controlling

Does Onagero replace our BI tool?

Not necessarily. If you have a BI tool that works well, we build nothing alongside it. Onagero pays off where reports are produced today from exports and manual work.

Can the language model calculate our figures wrongly?

In the tool it does not calculate. Calculations are fixed, tested code. The model helps with building and with questions such as “why does the value deviate?”, and even then the answer points to the postings.

What about the month-end close in the ERP?

It stays where it is. Onagero reads the posted data on your schedule and posts nothing itself.

Do other departments see our figures?

Only if you release it. Tools have roles: who may view, who may change. Management, sales and production can be given different subsets.

Can we keep using Excel?

Yes. Every table can be exported. Many teams keep Excel for individual analysis and hand over only the recurring compilation.
