AI in purchasing: prices and delivery dates before they get expensive

Purchasing is often the last to learn that a price movement has long since overtaken the costing, or that a supplier has been delivering late for months. Onagero puts both side by side, from data you already have.

In short

With Onagero, your purchasing team builds tools from purchase orders, goods receipts and your costing: an overview of which material prices have moved against the costing basis, and a measurement of on-time delivery per supplier. Ordering continues in the ERP, by your people.

What matters

The costing basis is the reference

A price is not high or low, but higher or lower than what you costed with. That is why the tool links purchase prices to the basis of your pre-costing.

On-time delivery needs a definition

Does the confirmed date count or the originally requested date? How many days of tolerance? We agree on such rules with you and write them into the tool.

External price series are a source of their own

Exchange or association quotations are not available in every company. Where they are missing, the tool calculates with your own purchase prices and says so.

Typical mistakes

  • Rating suppliers on an on-time delivery figure whose definition nobody knows.
  • Price alerts with no link to the costing, which nobody reads any more.
  • Purchasing external market data before your own order data has been evaluated.

Questions about AI in Purchasing

Does Onagero place orders itself?

No. Onagero does not write to your ERP. Orders, call-offs and releases stay with your people.

Do we need access to commodity exchanges?

Not to begin with. The tool first works with your own purchase prices. External series can be added later as another source, if you have a license for them.

Do suppliers see the evaluation?

Only if you pass it on. The tool is internal and has roles.

How often is the data updated?

At the interval your source allows and that we fix in the pilot, for example daily. The tool always shows the data as-of date.
