AI quote costing: from your own post-costing
An inquiry arrives, and costing first looks for whether such a part has existed before. Onagero finds it in seconds, shows what it really cost and prepares the basis for the quote.
- Runs on your server
- Reads only, never writes
- GDPR ready
- First result in weeks
In short
With Onagero, your costing team builds an aid from your own orders: for a new inquiry, it shows similar earlier items, their actual times, material costs and deviation from the pre-costing at the time. From that comes a costing proposal with its source. Your sales team sets the price.
How your team describes it
Your experts say what they need in their own words. Onagero finds the right data and builds the tool in a test stage; after your release it runs in operation.
„For this inquiry, show me similar earlier parts, what they really cost and how far off the pre-costing was.“Quote costing, as a tool in the browser
What the tool takes over
Three steps done by hand today. The tool your team builds with Onagero then does them itself.
Finding similar items
Using dimensions, material, operations and customer, the tool finds earlier items that resemble the inquiry. What counts as similar is for you to define.
Showing real values
For each match: posted times, material consumption, scrap and how far off the pre-costing was at the time.
Preparing a proposal
A costing proposal according to your scheme, each line with its origin. Only what your cost estimator confirms is adopted.
Typical situations
This is what the value looks like day to day.
Inquiry with drawing
Costing no longer searches the archive but receives the five most similar items with actual values.
Repeat part after years
A customer inquires about an item again. The tool shows what it really cost last time, not only what was quoted.
New colleague in costing
The knowledge of which parts are difficult is in the data and not only in one head.
Bottleneck before quarter-end
Many inquiries, little time. Simple cases get faster, difficult ones get more attention.
Which data is needed
- Item master with characteristics such as dimension and material
- Routings and pre-costings
- Confirmations and material withdrawals of earlier orders
- Your costing scheme and your rates
Only what your IT releases is read. Names are masked in the development stage. How the data path works
What you end up with
A tool in which costing enters the characteristics of an inquiry and receives similar earlier items with actual values, plus a costing proposal according to your scheme, each line with its source.

Start with one problem.
Keep the capability.
No AI transformation. One real process, solved on your data in a few weeks. Your team solves the next one itself.
How your price is formed
After the demo you get a fixed offer. Scope, goal and price are set in writing before it starts.
One real problem, the data sources it needs, your Onagero environment on your server, and the first solution, built with your team and measured against the agreed goal.
- Scope, goal and price in writing before the start
- First running solution in a few weeks
- Your data and results stay exportable at any time
Operating the platform on your server: monitoring, reviewed updates, backup and rehearsed recovery, and maintenance of the connections when systems change.
- Begins only once the start has reached its goal
- Your team builds further solutions itself, in the same environment
- Roles, releases and logs included
What you can rely on
The tool reads, computes and shows. These things it never does, and that is in the contract.
- Onagero sets no prices and sends no quotes to customers.
- It does not read drawings automatically unless that has been agreed and verified as a separate scope.
- It adopts no costing line without confirmation.
Questions about Quote costing
Can the AI read drawings?
Language models can partly evaluate drawings, but not reliably enough to carry dimensions into a costing unchecked. For the pilot, costing enters the characteristics; a drawing reader would be a separate scope, verified separately.
How does the tool know what is similar?
From rules that you help shape: same material, dimensions within a range, same operations. The weighting is visible and can be changed.
What if there is no similar part?
Then the tool says so, and costing works as before. It does not invent a comparison.
Does this replace our costing software?
No. It delivers the basis faster. Costing stays where it is today.
Does the model provider see our prices?
The search and the calculation run in the tool on your server. When someone asks the model a question, only the excerpt released for that purpose goes out. We show the exact path on the Data security page.
